Second Prize – Planning competition

Jahn, Mack & Partner were awarded second prize, together with the Berlin landscape architect Gabriele Kiefer, in the landscape planning and urban development competition commissioned by the City of Duisburg for a strip of commercial space along the River Rhine, the so-called “RheinPark”. The intention was to develop a production and office area with a service park (which called for a reorganization of the area under planning law). This entailed re-planning the city in urban development terms (city layout, connection to the urban spaces) while also creating the landscaping for the site. Another task comprised a proposal to develop the area gradually in the course of separate, individual projects all forming part of the overall reorganization under planning law.
